Distance measurement using triangulation
The optical triangulation measurement principle stands out as the ultimate solution for achieving unparalleled precision in determining distances up close. By harnessing the power of specialized receiver optics and a position-sensitive detector (such as a photodiode line), this sensor can accurately gauge object distances with unwavering accuracy, completely independent of the object's reflectivity. Not even the color or surface properties, like high reflectivity, can sway its exceptional measurement precision.
Elevating the game further, the FT 50 RLA laser distance sensor delivers a signal that mirrors the distance with utmost fidelity, effortlessly transmitted through the analog output (e.g. 4 ... 20 mA) or a serial RS485 interface. The digital outputs' switching range can be effortlessly customized to any desired zone within the operational range through a simple teach-in process.
Distance measurement using
time-of-flight
SensoPart makes use of innovative time-of-flight technology to measure longer distances with precision. By emitting pulsed laser light and analyzing the time it takes for the light to bounce back from the target object, the sensor accurately determines the distance.
Thanks to the pulsed light emission, these sensors offer reliable background suppression and exceptional resistance to ambient light interference. The FT/FR 55-RLAP series distance sensors, which utilize time-of-flight technology, are capable of measuring distances up to 70 meters with high accuracy. Their reliable detection capabilities and long scanning ranges make them perfect for use in production lines, handling systems, and warehousing setups.
